What is Life of Mouse?
"Life of Mouse" was created and is drawn by Rhonda Stock under the pen-name "Jackie Bee." She is currently selling prints of her artwork, both the fun mice and pencil sketches. She has an Etsy store where you can find prints, mini-prints, bookmarks, cards, and notebooks featuring her artwork. Check it out by clicking here.
An Interview with Jackie Bee
What is your favourite mouse drawing you have done?
My favourite has to be a drawing I did of the entire choir back when I was in high school. It was a work-in-progress the whole year, done on the back of my music envelope, and each person in our choir was represented by a mouse.
How did you come up with the idea for "Life of Mouse?"
The mice started as doodles when I was in school, and then I started making a few cards, bookmarks and that kind of thing for gifts. Pretty soon, people were telling me that I should turn it into a business. It took me more than 20 years since life got in the way, but I've finally started "Life of Mouse."
Does Life of Mouse only include your mouse drawings?
I also include my pencil sketches under Life of Mouse, although I use my real name for those instead of my pen name. I do pencil sketches of animals and will do commissions.
What else do you do when you aren't drawing?
I work a full-time day job as a barefoot hoof trimmer, so that keeps me busy. I also run Riding Rain Ranch, a horse ranch (with donkeys and goats as well). I write adult and children's books as well as articles and am a mother.
What is your favourite animal?
It's hard to say! They all have such unique aspects that I love. I am really into horses and donkeys, but I also love my cats, dogs, bunnies and goats.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I'm actually terrified of mice and birds.
